Are you having problems with water intrusion, biological growth or bowed or leaning walls? Take a look at our solutions for these common basement problems.

Heavy rainfall or melting snow can cause basement leaks and flooding which result in weakness in the ground beneath your foundation. Foundation sinking, bowing basement walls, and other structural damage can occur as the supporting ground softens. In the process, you’re left with an ideal environment for the growth of mold and mildew.
Basement leaks damage your belongings, produce mold & mildew, and cause extensive damage.
Water enters your home in three main ways:

Acculevel installs interior drainage and sump systems that redirect water before it can pressurize your basement. For many homes, our recommended solution is the Fast Track perimeter drainage system paired with a sump pump to prevent water intrusion.
Fast Track is a low-profile interior drainage channel set on or alongside the footing at the cove joint (where the wall meets the floor). It collects water from wall seepage, the cove joint, and under-slab migration, then routes it to a sump pump for safe discharge.

All Acculevel waterproofing systems drain into a top-of-the-line sump pump system and include safeguards against power outages and pump failures. It is extremely important to have a second battery-operated pump in the sump liner in case of mechanical or power failure. Acculevel battery back ups are dependable and flexible.
Mold, mildew, and other biological growths can be damaging to even the healthiest members of your family. The process of mold growth also can release byproducts like gases, chemical residue and particulate matter.
Humidity in the soil and air releases destructive water vapor, debris, contaminates, and pollen. This damp air carries mold spores and musty odors, providing the perfect environment for insects and other pests, as well as wood rot. These issues affect your home’s structure and the quality of air in your living spaces.

Acculevel offers a variety of solutions to keep your basement mold and moisture free. Our systems effectively remove moisture from your basement, prevent mold growth, and make your home more energy efficient.
Acculevel’s mold treatment and prevention coating is a water-based fungicidal coating which is applied to treat and prevent the growth of mold, mildew, fungi, bacteria, or other fungal organisms. This sealant coats and protects surfaces in unconditioned basements and is part of an ideal home waterproofing process.

Encapsulation seals your basement with a barrier that traps water and sends it directly into the drainage system. The encapsulation material we use is a polyurethane membrane interlaced with high-density fibers. This is the strongest and most puncture-resistant material on the market, and is an inorganic material that does not support mold growth.

All soil can expand and contract after a heavy rain or drought. When the soil supporting your foundation changes, it can cause your home to shift. During wet weather, water saturates surrounding soil, causing it to swell and push against subterranean walls. This lateral pressure can make basement walls bulge or leak, causing a wet and smelly basement.
Basement walls are designed to support the downward weight of your home. Unfortunately, these walls are not intended to resist significant lateral pressure produced by expansive soil. Over time, this pressure can cause the horizontal seam between rows of concrete clock to bulge – resulting in a bowing or cracking wall. Since basement walls are integral to a structure’s stability, a damaged wall can cause serious issues for your foundation and greatly decrease your home’s value.
Acculevel offers a variety of solutions for bowing or cracked basement walls. From carbon fiber straps for helical tiebacks or wall anchors. Acculevel has a solution that will best fit your specific problem.
Acculevel uses carbon-fiber Kevlar straps in combination with incredibly rigid epoxies to reinforce basement walls with stronger-than-steel strength. These epoxies are designed to bond the carbon fiber straps directly to the structure by permeating both the foundation and carbon-fiber. After application, both materials harden into a permanently bonded structure.
This combination of bricks in staggered columns and strap-reinforced rows creates a strong “grid” ideal for combating exterior soil pressure. The repaired basement wall can also be painted leaving an almost invisible repair.

Wall anchors consist of metal plates and a steel shaft. These anchors provide supplemental lateral force to stabilize bowed and cracked walls. This installation is quick and requires minimal excavation or disturbance to the surrounding landscaping.
Tie-backs are also long, screw-like shafts just like those used in helical pier installations. When installed at an angle instead of straight down, they can provide lateral stability to basement or retaining walls.

Fluctuating temperatures, humidity, and drafts can strain your home’s HVAC system. If your HVAC struggles to maintain temperature or runs more frequently than it used to, it may be due to unregulated humidity or a poorly insulated basement.
Acculevel offers several different options to address decreased utility efficiency. We can encapsulate your basement, install a high quality dehumidifier, and seal against drafts with spray foam insulation.
